    London

1833, and the first of them — the model every other garden cemetery in Britain copied.
  2. Highgate Cemetery

    London

1839. The Egyptian Avenue and the Circle of Lebanon, and Karl Marx on the east side.
  3. Abney Park Cemetery

    London

1840. Non-denominational from the start, and the burial ground of English dissent.
  4. Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park

    London

1841, the last of the seven. Closed to burials in 1966 and now a local nature reserve.
  5. Nunhead Cemetery

    London

1840. The least known of the seven, and the one with the view of St Paul’s.
